How to send your EPK to a promoter and get a reply

To send your EPK to a promoter, write a short, personal message: who you are, why you fit that night, a concrete date or period and your EPK link. Send it through the channel they use for booking, three to six weeks ahead, and follow up only once, about a week later.

Promoters get dozens of messages a week. Yours has to be read in twenty seconds and lead to a single link.

The message template

Hi [name]. I am [your name], a [genre] DJ from [city]. I have been following [party or club] and I think my sound fits your [date or month] night. My EPK with mixes, rider and dates is here: [link]. Thanks for your time.

Always personalise the first line. Generic messages pasted to twenty promoters are obvious and get ignored.

When and where to send it

Three to six weeks before the date you want is the safest window. Festivals plan months ahead. Use the booking email or the channel the promoter points to; DMs only if that is the official channel.

Do not send heavy attachments or five links. One address, like epk.social/yourname, opens on a phone and shows everything at once.

Follow up without being annoying

If there is no reply, send one short message about a week later with real news: a new mix, a confirmed date or a video. After that, wait for the next season.

Sending checklist

  • A personalised first line
  • A concrete date or period
  • A single link to your EPK
  • Sent three to six weeks ahead
  • One follow-up with news, no more

With your EPK on one link, every message you send works for you.

Frequently asked questions

Should I send my EPK by email or DM?

Use the channel the promoter lists for booking, usually email. Only use DMs when they are the official contact for the party or venue.

How far ahead should I send my EPK?

Three to six weeks before the date for clubs. For festivals, send it months ahead, when applications or curation open.

How many times can I follow up?

Once, about a week later, with concrete news. Pushing harder usually closes the door on future dates.
